I'm having difficulty hearing my friends and family, do I have a hearing loss? There are many reasons why you may have difficulty hearing and are not nesessarily down to what an Audiologist would call a hearing loss. By having a hearing test we can establish what exactly is going on with your hearing. If there is a hearing loss, we can help you hear.
My family say I need a hearing aid but I think I hear just fine! Sometimes we think our hearing is fine even though others complain that we cannot hear them or say you have the television up very loud. The truth is that we can get very used to a hearing loss particulary if it is gradual, and develop our own coping strategies to deal with it. A hearing loss can affect not just the person whos loss it is, but their partner. By having your hearing checked we can offer a way of improving your life and that of your partner.
How much will a hearing aid cost? The cost of a hearing aid will depend upon your hearing loss, the type of aid you wish to have and whether you need one or two.
Does the price include aftercare? Yes. The price includes aftercare for the life of the hearing aid.
What other costs are there? Batteries are the main other cost associated with hearing aids. Batteries generally need changing every week, and each aid uses one battery. (We charge £3 for a pack of six). Other disposables such as tubing are considered a minor cost.
